Mitsubishi to Build Indonesian Petrochemical Facility
Mitsubishi is planning to build a coal-based petrochemical facility in East Kalimantan, Indonesia, according to local news reports.
The 37ha petrochemical factory will be built with an investment of $1.5bn, writes Antara News.
The company has completed a feasibility study for the plant's construction, Indonesian Chemical Industry Federation chairman Hidayat Nyakman said.
The plant will require ten million tonnes of coal.
Mitsubishi is yet to finalise a continuous coal supply mechanism for its plant, Nyakman said.
The cost of the project is expected to be high as the companies investing in this sector are required to develop infrastructure facilities on their own.
